At the core of the system is an unpressurized polyethylene inner vessel filled with water as an energy-dense, non-pressurized heat transfer medium. Because water has a higher heat capacity and lower viscosity than traditional glycol mixtures, energy transfer occurs faster and more efficiently.
By routing fresh tap water through the top high-surface-area corrugated heat exchanger, the tank delivers instantaneous DHW on demand. Because fresh water is never stored in a large static volume, the risk of Legionella bacteria proliferation is virtually eliminated. This makes the SQ-WD model an ideal choice for residential environments, HORECA, schools, kindergartens, and healthcare facilities.
